Above-Ground Heritage Walk

Explore the historic mine site at your own pace with our free self-guided above-ground heritage walk. The 20-30 minute trail takes you around the rim of the main shaft, along the sprawling slag heap, and past the foundations where mine buildings once stood, giving you a complete picture of how the mine operated during its 45-year history.
Enhance Your Experience: Purchase our detailed mine history guidebook ($5) from the mine office, featuring:
-
Above-ground points of interest
-
Geological formations and copper mining processes
-
Historic photographs and diagrams
-
Mining terminology explained

Don't Miss: The iconic boiler photo spot at the top of the hill, a beloved Blinman tradition for generations of visitors!

Perfect for: Those unable to go underground, photography enthusiasts, or anyone wanting a fuller understanding of the mine's operations. When combined with the underground tour, you'll gain a thorough appreciation of both the mining process and the community that thrived here.
